Abstract
In the recent years, the wide availability of
multimedia personal computer systems and the
high-speed of networks have opened up new
avenues of communication. As the need for
communication tools has been rapidly increasing,
various new communication systems and techniques
have been introduced. These new systems have
been widely accepted as functional means of
communication, which in some cases have replaced
the typical telecommunication systems, by
individuals as well as companies.
In this report, the design, protocols, and
implementation issues that concern a real-time
communication system are presented. The
Interactive Secure Communication is a Java based
client/server system that provides its users
with various means of communication, including
message exchange, file transfer, and voice
conferencing. However, prior to presenting the
design and implementation issues of the system,
the report starts with an introduction to the
technologies that have been used for the
implementation of the system.
Followed by the presentation of both of the
system design and implementation phases, the
report continues by outlining the testing
strategies that were set to ensure the
functionality of the developed system.
